When Chanel launched their Spring/Summer 2022 collection, fashionistas definitely took a second (and third and fourth!) look at the heart shaped bags that models carried down the runway.

The Heart Bags featured quilted lambskin leather and came in Coral Pink, White and Black.

The smaller Heart Clutch with Chain bags also featured quilted lambskin leather and came in Purple, White and Black.

Now that the bags have launched in stores, we’re seeing them on the streets and on YouTube videos. I love how the coral pink and purple are such unicorn colours!

Of course, heart-shaped bags aren’t a new phenomenon. Every so often, we’ll see a new reiteration from designers who put their own twist and unique direction.

Let’s check out some of these heart-shaped bags.

VINTAGE CHANEL

In fact, Chanel first launched heart-shaped bags in quilted patent leather back in the 1990s.

The now-vintage bags had a chainlink top handle and came in black, beige and pink.

KATE SPADE

Ah, the pink heart-shaped bags that blew up on TikTok. I see these pop up on my social media feeds ever so often. The Tapestry CEO even mentioned how the bags sold out after going viral on TikTok.

Kate Spade launched their love shack heart purses in 2021. They are made of saffiano PVC (synthetic leather) and come in Chalk Pink (light pink), Cherry Red (red), Cream Multi (pink and red cherries on a white background), Black Multi (white polka dots on a black background), Flutter Hearts Black Multi (pink and red hearts on a black background). They also come in a glitter version (Deep Nova Burgundy) and faux fur version (Pomegranate).

COACH

Coach launched their Heart Crossbody in 2022. The crossgrain leather bags were available in Colorblock (pink and red), and Gold/Brown Multi (flowers and hearts on a Coach-monogrammed background). Each one features a hybrid chain-leather strap.

PRADA

Prada launched their Odette Heart Bag in 2019. The saffiano leather bags were available in Rose Petal (Light Pink), Red and Black.

Each one featured a handle for hand carry, and also a long shoulder strap.

LOUIS VUITTON

Louis Vuitton launched their New Wave heart-shaped bag in 2019 (in time for Valentine’s Day!).

The bags came in Pastel Pink, Scarlet (Red) and Black were made of quilted calf leather. Each one has a removable handle, so could be worn as a shoulder bag, a clutch or as a belt bag around the waist.

SAINT LAURENT

Saint Laurent launched their Love Heart Chain Bag in 2016. The bags came in Black and Gold quilted matelassé calfskin leather, and also in an exotic Red Python version.

Each one boasted a gold chain strap to wear as a shoulder bag or crossbody.

BALLY

If you prefer to take the tiny bag trend a step further, Bally coin purses might be up your alley.

Bally has Hellie leather coin purses in Red, Bone (White) and Black. Each one comes with a gold chain and can be worn around the neck (or probably around your shoulder or wrist).
